Freddy Brazier, 20, has spoken publicly for the first time about becoming a father, posting an Instagram video in which he joked, “I’m actually a DILF to be!” as he prepares to welcome his first child with an ex‑girlfriend.
The model and reality television figure — the son of the late Big Brother contestant Jade Goody and TV presenter Jeff Brazier — had remained largely silent since reports of the pregnancy emerged last month. The story was first reported by the Mail on Sunday, and Freddy’s older brother, Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier, 22, said at the National Television Awards that the family is preparing to help raise the baby together.
Bobby told reporters he was “excited to become an uncle” and described childcare as “going to be a team effort,” saying their father, Jeff, had been “super supportive.” When asked whether the news would heal recent family rifts, Bobby said he was unsure but reiterated that the family intended to raise the child together.
Sources close to the family said the baby announcement prompted a reconciliation between Freddy and his father, who had been estranged for much of the past year. Jeff Brazier, 46, posted a social media message that appeared to address the development, asking followers for a “parenting guidebook” for “early adult years the unconventional path,” alongside a photo of himself with Freddy.
Friends and family told media outlets that Freddy has discussed the pregnancy with his father and that Jeff has offered advice and support. A source said the revelation had “blindsided” Freddy and that the situation had brought the two men back into closer contact. The same source added that Freddy wants a DNA test on the child before making longer-term plans to ensure parentage.
People close to the couple said Freddy’s relationship with the pregnant woman was brief and ended acrimoniously, with reports of rows that led to allegations being made to police. Those details have not been independently verified by other outlets.
Freddy and Jeff have been public about their fraught family history. The pair drew attention last year on Celebrity Race Across the World for arguments about the family’s openness and for moments of tension during the series. Over the past six months the family dispute included legal action by Jeff aimed at restricting Freddy’s contact with his grandmother, Jackiey Budden, who is Jade Goody’s mother.
Freddy has previously made allegations about his grandmother, saying in a preview of his podcast that she introduced him to strong cannabis when he was about 12. Jackiey Budden has denied those claims. The dispute formed part of a wider public airing of Freddy’s personal struggles: in March he posted a video revealing a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and discussing attention‑deficit/hyperactivity disorder and experiences of addiction and hospital admissions.
The pregnancy would make the late Jade Goody a grandmother for the first time; Goody died in 2009 from cervical cancer. Family members and friends quoted by media outlets said they regretted that she is not alive to see the news.
Freddy’s post and family comments come amid continuing media coverage of the Braziers’ interpersonal disputes and health disclosures. Representatives for Freddy, Jeff and other family members did not immediately respond to requests for comment beyond their social media remarks. The child’s due date and further details about arrangements for care have not been publicly disclosed.
