Fox News Digital led all major news brands across a range of audience measures in August, according to data cited by the outlet, outpacing competitors including The New York Times and CNN in multiplatform minutes, multiplatform views, unique visitors, YouTube views and social interactions.

The site recorded 3.6 billion multiplatform minutes in August, a 10% increase from the same month a year earlier, and 1.8 billion multiplatform views, a 6% uptick. The New York Times ranked second in multiplatform minutes with 1.2 billion (down 30% year over year) and second in multiplatform views with 1.3 billion (down 18%). CNN finished third in both categories, with 826 million multiplatform minutes (down 65%) and 605 million multiplatform views (down 54%). Fox News Digital reported that it led the competitive set in multiplatform minutes for the 54th consecutive month as of July and in multiplatform views for the 16th straight month.

Fox News Digital also posted leading totals for unique visitors. The outlet cited 88 million total unique visitors across desktop and mobile, and 148 million total digital multiplatform unique visitors — a 29% increase from the prior year — metrics reported with Comscore. The Fox News mobile app had 6.3 million unique visitors during the month. Fox Business, part of the same company, drove 220 million multiplatform minutes, delivered 125 million multiplatform views and reported 27.8 million total digital multiplatform unique visitors.

On social platforms and YouTube, measurement by Emplifi showed Fox News commanding the largest audience among the competitive set. The network amassed 386.2 million YouTube views in August, up 65% year over year and 16% from July. Total social interactions reached 101 million, a 213% increase from August of the prior year, with 71.9 million interactions on Facebook, 24.2 million on Instagram and 5.3 million on X.

Several high-profile news events in August coincided with the traffic surge, including a summit in Anchorage between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the deployment of National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., the public engagement announcement of entertainers Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and the completion of an $8 billion merger between Paramount and Skydance. A photograph of President Trump and President Putin at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Aug. 15 was among images circulated during coverage of the Anchorage meeting.

Fox News’ August totals reflected differences in how outlets report and opt into certain measurement methodologies. The company said it and several peers — including CBS News, NBC News, The Washington Post and ABC News — opted to account for Social Incremental in their total digital multiplatform unique visitors, a practice not adopted by some competitors such as CNN and The New York Times, according to the report. The digital audience figures were attributed to Comscore, while social and YouTube metrics were attributed to Emplifi.

The report also noted that CNN experienced its worst month for multiplatform views and minutes since tracking began in February 2015. Fox’s results come amid programming and product developments at the network, including a revamped weekend lineup and streaming initiatives intended to extend reach across live news, sports and entertainment.

The outlet’s summary of the August data was published by a media editor and included the numerical breakdowns and competitive comparisons. The company’s figures and the third-party measurements cited provide a snapshot of digital audience performance during a month marked by a mix of political, corporate and entertainment headlines.
