Alex D. Linz, who gained fame as a child actor in the late 1990s, has been seen years after stepping away from Hollywood. Linz, now 37, was photographed in Los Angeles on a recent Monday engaged in outdoor tasks near his home. He was seen wearing gardening gloves, cargo pants, and Crocs while sweeping sidewalks and clearing weeds, sporting a beard and no shirt.
Linz first captured attention as the young Alex Pruitt in the 1997 film "Home Alone 3." Before that, he played the son of Michelle Pfeiffer's character in the 1996 movie "One Fine Day." His acting career began at age six in an episode of the TV show "Cybill," followed by a role in "The Young and the Restless" in 1995. He also appeared alongside Scarlett Johansson in "Home Alone 3," which was directed by Raja Gosnell. The film earned $79.1 million at the box office, a figure significantly lower than the original "Home Alone."
Linz continued his acting career with roles in the 2001 Disney film "Max Keeble's Big Move" and television shows such as "ER" and "Providence." His final film credit was the 2007 independent drama "Choose Connor."
During his time at Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, Linz was the frontman for a local band called The Fez Armada. He eventually left acting to pursue higher education. Linz graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later obtained a master's degree in urban and regional planning from the University of California in 2017. In 2023, he began a career as a legal analyst.
Linz's recent sighting occurred shortly before the death of Tim Curry, a veteran actor known for his roles in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Clue," and "Home Alone 2." Curry died at the age of 80.
