Florence Pugh Dazzles in Yellow Lace at 'East of Eden' Screening
The actress showcased a striking Rodarte ensemble while attending the West Hollywood premiere of her new Netflix period drama.
Florence Pugh captivated attendees at a West Hollywood screening of her upcoming Netflix period drama, East of Eden. The 30-year-old actress sported a vibrant yellow lace embroidered co-ord set from Rodarte's 2027 collection, featuring a high-neck blouse that revealed her midriff and a matching layered skirt.
Pugh completed the ensemble with metallic satin pumps and a mix of gold and silver jewelry. The actress stars as Cathy Ames, the central antiheroine of the series, which is based on John Steinbeck's 1952 novel of the same name. She is married to Christopher Abbott's character, Adam Trask.
Zoe Kazan, granddaughter of Elia Kazan, who directed the 1955 film adaptation, adapted the novel for the new series. Kazan expressed her strong conviction in Pugh for the role, stating, "I didn’t have another person that I thought would be just as good. She is the exact right person to play Cathy." Kazan praised Pugh's connection with the camera, calling her a "genius" whose preparation process remains largely invisible to observers.
Pugh herself described the experience of portraying Cathy Ames as "totally terrifying" and a character she "wrestled with in a really, really beautiful way." The new series is set to premiere on October 1.
The actress's career has seen significant financial success, with her business Flo Pug reportedly accumulating £6 million in profit last year, equating to earnings of approximately £9.9 million. Pugh is also slated for roles in upcoming films such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday, and Dune: Part Three.
Rumors also suggest Pugh is being considered for the role of Miss Moneypenny in a Bond spin-off series titled The Moneypenny Diaries on Prime Video. The series would reportedly be based on books by Samantha Weinberg.
Despite her professional achievements, Pugh has spoken about the importance of self-care and potentially taking a break from acting. She recently told Elle Spain that she needs to "stop and recharge" and has recognized the need to slow down to avoid burnout, dedicating more time to family and friends to better tackle demanding roles.
