Marian Izaguirre, a 23-year-old fashion influencer with millions of followers, died after being found in a hotel room in Morelia, Mexico, authorities and media outlets reported. She had been reported missing by her family on Sept. 1 and was located by police five days later; officials said she was taken to a hospital and later confirmed dead on Sept. 12.

Police and prosecutors have not publicly released a detailed cause of death, but media reports said authorities confirmed Izaguirre became brain-dead from health complications. The Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement that "she was treated by paramedics and taken to a hospital." It remains unclear what sequence of events led to her deterioration.

Izaguirre rose to prominence as a fashion and lifestyle creator, amassing roughly 4.5 million followers on TikTok and more than 327,000 on Instagram. Days before she was reported missing, she posted a video that drew attention for its unsettling tone: she appeared in clown makeup, visibly crying and lip-syncing to a song about lost love, with the caption, "All the promises of my love will go with you. Why are you leaving?" The clip circulated widely after news of her disappearance and death.

Family members reported her missing on Sept. 1, according to local reports. Police located her in a hotel room in Morelia on Sept. 6; authorities said she had apparently been staying at the hotel for several days and was found in poor health. Paramedics attended to her at the scene before she was transported to a hospital, where officials later declared her brain-dead.

News of Izaguirre’s death prompted an outpouring of condolences from followers and fellow creators. Tributes on social media said she was remembered for her smile and her work in fashion content. Fellow content creator Marcelo Alcázar wrote, "In the short time I knew you, you were a wonderful girl, with a smile that never went away. You’re an angel, and you always were."

Authorities have provided limited public details beyond the timeline of her disappearance, discovery and hospitalization. At this time, investigators have not released a public report specifying the medical or forensic findings that led to the official determination of her condition and subsequent death. Local prosecutors typically handle inquiries into unexpected deaths and may publish updates as investigations proceed.

Izaguirre’s death highlights the intense public scrutiny faced by social media figures and the rapid circulation of content in the days before a creator’s disappearance drew national attention. Her accounts contained a mix of fashion, beauty and personal-posting that had helped her build a large audience across platforms.

Officials and those close to Izaguirre did not immediately respond to requests for further comment. Media organizations that reported on her death said they expected local authorities to release additional information as investigators continue their work.
