Esmé Creed-Miles Attends 'Sense and Sensibility' Premiere, Changes Outfit
The actress swapped her premiere gown for a sheer blouse before entering the event.
Esmé Creed-Miles was seen arriving at the premiere of "Sense and Sensibility" on Tuesday night, initially sporting a formal gown before changing into a sheer blue striped blouse paired with black trousers. The 26-year-old actress, who plays Marianne Dashwood in the film, had previously walked the red carpet in Leicester Square in a white full skirt and a cropped black blazer.
Creed-Miles styled her dark hair in loose waves and opted for a smoky makeup look. She posed for photographs with her co-stars, including Daisy Edgar Jones, who portrays Elinor Dashwood, her on-screen older sister. The pair previously worked together as teenagers on the 2018 film "Pond Life."
Edgar Jones presented a vampy take on period dressing in a plunging satin gown with bow detailing and a leg slit. Her brunette hair was styled in an undone half-up, half-down fashion, complemented by a pendant choker.
The film, based on Jane Austen's debut novel, centers on two sisters navigating love and heartbreak within the strict social confines of 18th-century Britain. The story follows the three Dashwood sisters and their mother after they are forced to leave their family estate, Norland Park, and relocate to a modest cottage in Devon.
Elinor, the elder sister, is characterized by her practicality and reliance on her "head," while Marianne is driven by her passionate "heart." This adaptation aims to capture the yearning, drama, and wit characteristic of Austen's work, translated for the screen by writer Diana Reid. Quotes from the original novel are featured throughout the film.
Supporting cast members include Fiona Shaw, Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay, Frank Dillane, and Bodhi Rae Breathnach, who plays the youngest Dashwood sister, Margaret. MacKay and Dillane portray potential suitors for the sisters.
The film is directed by Georgia Oakley and produced by the team behind "Pride & Prejudice" (2005) and "Emma" (2020).
"Sense and Sensibility" is scheduled for release in the UK on September 25. The film premiered in London on Tuesday evening.
