Eric Stonestreet, 54, married his longtime partner Lindsay Schweitzer in an intimate ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri, the actor announced in an Instagram post Tuesday.
In a carousel of photos, Stonestreet captioned the images, "It's my birthday and guess what I got." The pictures show the couple slow-dancing in front of acoustic guitar players. Stonestreet wore a fitted navy blazer and a lighter blue tie; Schweitzer, identified in reports as a pediatric nurse, wore a satin slip-style gown with a crystal belt and carried a bouquet of native flowers.
Friends and colleagues responded to the post with congratulations. Stonestreet's on-screen husband from Modern Family, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, wrote, "Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I'm so happy for you!!!!" Ferguson's husband, Justin Mikita, commented, "Congrats!" Singer Michael Bublé reacted with a string of red-heart emojis, and actress Octavia Spencer wrote, "Congratulations! So happy for you both."
Stonestreet and Schweitzer have been engaged since 2021. They first met at a charity event in 2016 and were publicly linked the following year. In a 2017 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Stonestreet said of Schweitzer, "She calms me — she calms my nerves. I'm a very high-strung person." The couple announced their engagement on social media in 2021.
Stonestreet rose to fame for his role as Cameron Tucker on ABC's long-running sitcom Modern Family. In recent months he has spoken publicly about his health: he disclosed earlier this year that he has been using the weight-loss drug Mounjaro and said he and his mother, Jamey, had shared their stories to encourage others to talk to doctors about treatment options. He has also discussed a diagnosis of diabetes in 2009, saying he once felt ashamed and did not immediately share the diagnosis with friends and family; the diagnosis came around the time he was cast on Modern Family.
The couple did not immediately release additional details regarding the ceremony or guest list. Stonestreet's Instagram post was the primary public announcement, accompanied by the set of wedding photos and a short caption marking his birthday and marriage.
