Eric Stonestreet and longtime partner Lindsay Schweitzer were married at their home in Kansas City, Mo., the actor announced on social media.

Posting a set of photographs, Stonestreet wrote, "It’s my birthday and guess what I got," sharing moments from the couple’s ceremony. The wedding took place at the newly built residence the couple had planned to use as a venue since beginning construction.

Stonestreet had told People in July that the house was intended to host their wedding. "We got engaged and then all of a sudden got an opportunity to build a house, and I thought, ‘No better way to start a relationship than literally building a foundation,’" he said. The actor proposed in 2021 after five years of dating.

The couple met in 2016 during the Big Slick charity weekend in Kansas City. They maintained a long-distance relationship while Stonestreet continued filming the final seasons of the ABC sitcom "Modern Family," which ran for 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020. After the show ended, Stonestreet moved back to his hometown.

Fellow "Modern Family" castmate Jesse Tyler Ferguson responded on social media, writing, "Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I'm so happy for you!!!!" Friends and fans also reacted to Stonestreet’s social posts celebrating the couple.

Stonestreet has spoken publicly about his return to the Midwest and his perspective on life in Hollywood. On the podcast "In Depth with Graham Bensinger," he said that living in Kansas City offered more "authentic, real moments" and contrasted that with what he described as some of the less appealing aspects of the entertainment industry. At the same time, he acknowledged perks to the Hollywood lifestyle, noting with a touch of humor the small luxuries he encountered while working there.

Stonestreet became widely known for his role as Cameron Tucker on "Modern Family," a performance that helped make the series a staple of network television for more than a decade. The couple’s decision to marry at their newly completed Kansas City home follows years of public and private milestones, from charity work that brought them together to the post-series move that reunited the actor with his hometown.

No further details about guests or officiants were disclosed in Stonestreet’s announcement.
