Emma Roberts' 5-year-old son, Rhodes, assumed the role of escort down the aisle at her recent wedding to Cody John. The ceremony took place last weekend in Idaho.
Rhodes, whom Roberts shares with ex-partner Garrett Hedlund, was dressed in a white tuxedo for the occasion. Roberts wore a custom Monique Lhuillier gown featuring an off-white color, a matching veil, and an asymmetrical shawl.
Roberts' father, actor Eric Roberts, was not in attendance at the wedding. Julia Roberts, Emma Roberts' aunt and Eric Roberts' sister, was present at the nuptials.
In a statement to Page Six, Eric Roberts commented on his absence, saying, “I love my daughter, always have, always will. It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.”
Eric Roberts has previously spoken about a complex relationship with his daughter. In an October 2024 interview on the “Inside of You” podcast, he described the “loss of a relationship with my daughter” as the “toughest time” of his life, though he characterized it as a sadness stemming from human misunderstandings rather than pain.
Earlier in 2024, during an appearance on the “Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson” podcast, Eric Roberts stated that he and his daughter are not estranged. He explained that their relationship is perceived as complicated primarily through the views of outsiders, suggesting they don't fully grasp the situation. He also acknowledged past shortcomings as a father, taking responsibility for being emotionally undependable during Roberts' childhood.
