Emily Blunt and John Krasinski brought their two daughters to the U.S. Open men’s final on Sunday, a rare public outing for the family as Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York.
Hazel, 11-year-old, and Violet, 9-year-old, sat between their parents, smiled and waved when their faces appeared on the stadium jumbotron, and were filmed eating pizza during the match. Blunt and Krasinski, who married in 2010, have periodically attended tennis events with their daughters but generally keep the children out of the public eye.
Photographs from the stands showed Hazel in jeans and a white T-shirt marked with a pink number 80 and a baseball cap, while Violet wore a pink dress paired with a blue cardigan and sunglasses perched on her head. Blunt wore a button-up white dress and Krasinski wore a black polo shirt and gray pants, according to images circulated by media outlets.
The appearance continued a family tradition: the couple and their daughters were also spotted at the U.S. Open in 2023 and 2024. Two of Krasinski’s former "The Office" co-stars, Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, were among other celebrities in the stands on Sunday and also made appearances on the jumbotron.
Blunt has spoken publicly about protecting her children from fame. In a 2021 interview with the Sunday Times, she said she did not want her children "to feel any more important or special or that there's a glare on them any more than other kids," and said she wanted them to "remain oblivious for the longest time." The couple’s approach has generally involved limiting public exposure and keeping their daughters’ lives largely private.
The U.S. Open finals drew wide celebrity attention this year as Alcaraz secured the title over Sinner in the final. Blunt and Krasinski’s presence with their daughters provided a rare family moment amid the high-profile sporting event.
