Elsa Pataky, wife of actor Chris Hemsworth, recently celebrated her 50th birthday, maintaining a lifestyle widely admired for its health and balance. Pataky, who married Hemsworth in 2010 and has three children with him, frequently shares her fitness routines and dietary habits with her 6.1 million Instagram followers.
Pataky follows a primarily plant-based diet, focusing on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Her typical lunch consists of a large salad with avocado, nuts, seeds, and olive oil. While she aims to avoid processed foods and sugar, she incorporates occasional 'cheat days,' which sometimes involve cooking fresh fish or baking with her children.
Fitness Routine
Over the past year, Pataky has incorporated the Norwegian 4x4 technique, a type of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), into her fitness regimen. This involves four rounds of four minutes at 85% to 95% of her maximum heart rate, aimed at maintaining her VO2 max, a metric associated with cardiovascular health and longevity. She also trains at the gym at least three times a week, combining weights and cardio.
In addition to gym workouts, Pataky is a longtime practitioner of yoga, which she states has significantly benefited her physical and mental well-being. She describes yoga as a form of meditation that helps her to decompress and clear her mind. She also practices daily meditation for 10 to 15 minutes after her children are asleep to unwind.
When not engaged in gym activities, Pataky often spends time horse riding with her children in Australia, where the family resides. This passion for horseback riding has been a long-standing interest for her.
