Ellie Chadwick has quit ITV's Love Island just days before the series finale, according to insider reports. Chadwick, a fan favorite from Scotland, reportedly made the decision after a week of emotional turmoil stemming from her relationship with Finley Maddock.

Sources suggest Chadwick's departure was prompted by Maddock's attention shifting to new arrival Elicia Bailey. While Tuesday night's episode showed Chadwick and Maddock reconciling during a recoupling ceremony after Maddock ended his flirtation with Bailey, this on-screen development occurred days before Chadwick's actual exit.

An insider told The Sun that while viewers might have seen Chadwick express intentions to leave in recent episodes, her actual departure at this point comes as a surprise given her recent reconnection with Maddock. The dramatic events leading to her exit are expected to air soon.

Chadwick is the third contestant this season to leave the villa without being eliminated through a public vote or recoupling. Earlier in the series, George Knight departed for what were initially cited as personal reasons. Reports later emerged suggesting Knight had been warned for using unacceptable language, with his family health concern providing a subsequent reason for his exit. Another contestant, Gabriel Garland, was removed from the villa after only one day when past revelations surfaced that were not identified during initial background checks.

In separate news, Love Island has faced a significant number of complaints to the UK's broadcasting regulator, Ofcom. Over the past week, the show has generated 534 complaints across four episodes. The highest number of complaints, 197, was for the "Movie Night" episode, with viewers alleging one contestant was targeted. Another 167 complaints were registered for the episode detailing the male contestants' return from Casa Amor. An additional 75 complaints were related to an altercation between two female contestants concerning romantic interests.
