Country music singer Ella Langley, now known for her glam makeup and signature bangs, appeared virtually unrecognizable in a TikTok video shared in 2022, years before achieving widespread fame.

The resurfaced clip features a makeup-free Langley discussing her nascent music career and her experiences opening for other artists. At the time, she styled her light brown hair in a casual ponytail and wore a blue T-shirt, detailing a low-maintenance makeup routine using drugstore products.

Fans viewing the video expressed surprise at the transformation, with many commenting on how different she looked. Some praised her "glow up," while others noted the significant evolution in her appearance.

Langley, 27, has since adopted a more polished style, characterized by her distinctive bangs, full-glam makeup, and embellished stage outfits. She has spoken about this evolution, stating that her fashion sense has developed significantly since her upbringing in Alabama, where she was "a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl."

"My style has definitely evolved over the years, and fashion has become a way I love to express myself both on and off stage," Langley told "Good Morning America." She describes her current aesthetic as a blend of Western, bohemian, and edgy influences, while still prioritizing comfort.

The shift toward a more glamorous look began with the release of her debut studio album, "Hungover," in August 2024. The music video for her hit song "You Look Like You Love Me," released that year, first showcased her now-signature brunette bangs.

Langley admitted that her bangs originated from a "bad tendency to cut [her] own hair," but they have become a defining element of her career. "I don’t think I can ever change [my hairstyle]. It changed my life a little bit," she said in April on the "This Past Weekend" podcast with Theo Von.

Her debut album achieved immediate success, with singles like "You Look Like You Love Me" and "Weren’t for the Wind" reaching No. 1 on country charts. Her sophomore release, "Dandelion," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 in April.

However, it was the single "Choosin’ Texas" that garnered significant attention. The song spent 14 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" and Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" for the most weeks at No. 1 among non-holiday titles by solo women. It also ties Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" for the second-longest-charting hit overall.
