Country singer Ella Langley is highlighting denim shorts in her newest campaign for American Eagle. Langley shared a look behind the scenes of the photoshoot on Friday, showcasing a country-inspired aesthetic that aligns with her partnership with the brand.
The photos, taken in a rustic barn setting, feature Langley in various denim shorts outfits. In one image, she wears dark-wash denim shorts with a white tank top and white cowboy boots, accessorized with a turquoise butterfly necklace and matching rings. Her hair is styled in loose waves with bangs, set against a backdrop of hay bales and weathered wooden walls.
Langley, 27, joined American Eagle as a denim ambassador in February. The singer has spoken about the personal significance of the partnership, noting that she grew up wearing the brand’s denim in her hometown of Alabama. She previously told People that her mother used to bedazzle her American Eagle shorts and that the brand’s emphasis on authenticity resonates with her own style and music.
American Eagle has described the collaboration with Langley as reflecting a growing connection between fashion and country music culture, particularly among Gen Z consumers. A spokesperson for the company stated that Langley’s “laid-back, confident approach to dressing” brings a natural energy to the brand’s classic pieces. The campaign, which is the retailer’s largest collaboration with a headlining country artist, features Langley across its online, in-store, and social media platforms. Her collection includes boot-cut jeans, denim shorts, skirts, jackets, and vests inspired by her Southern style.
The partnership follows American Eagle's previous campaigns with actress Sydney Sweeney. Langley's role as a "Denim Darling" for the brand signifies country music's increasing influence with younger audiences, according to American Eagle's chief marketing officer. Langley represents a "new wave of country music" that appeals to young women through her authenticity and confidence.
Langley’s career has seen significant growth recently. She became the first female artist to simultaneously top Billboard’s Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts with her song “Choosin’ Texas.” The track has also held the position of the nation’s top-selling single for 11 weeks, tying a record for the longest run at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.
