Taylor Swift once suggested that Ed Sheeran might be more than just a guest at her wedding to Travis Kelce, hinting that it would be "hard" to keep the singer off the stage during the event. In an October 2025 appearance on "Capital FM Breakfast Show," Swift responded to a question about Sheeran performing at her nuptials.

Swift predicted that Sheeran would bring "energy" to the celebration. "He's like, ‘I’m always being asked to sing at weddings,’" Swift recalled. "It’s like, ‘Ed, if there’s a stage you know that you’ll be on it.’ He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want."

She added, "That’s the fun thing about our friendship is we both love performing, we love writing and we love singing. We’re like, ‘Oh, don’t make me sing! All right!’"

Last month, reports indicated that Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, had received an invitation to Swift and Kelce's wedding. An insider suggested that Swift was modeling her highly-anticipated union's secrecy after Sheeran's private 2018 wedding, where guest lists and details were kept confidential.

Swift and Sheeran have maintained a friendship for over a decade and have collaborated on music multiple times. Rumors of a strain in their friendship circulated the previous year after Swift released "The Life of a Showgirl" shortly after Sheeran's "Play" album. However, Sheeran addressed these rumors in November 2025, stating, "We’ve been friends for very, very many years. We’re super close and we see each other when we see each other, and when we see each other, we lock back into where we left off."

While details about the wedding performances remain unconfirmed, it was previously reported that Swift and Kelce's celebration is scheduled for July 3 in New York City. The event is expected to host approximately 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden. This main celebration is reportedly to follow a more intimate gathering of 100 people at the same venue on July 2.
