They later returned to sun loungers, where they were seen cuddling and reading. Turner was reportedly reading "Martyr! a New York Times Bestseller," a novel that follows a sober, orphaned son of Iranian immigrants searching for a family secret. Lipa was seen with notes.
Porto Ercole, situated on the southern Tuscan coast, is known for its natural beauty and clear waters. The couple had previously spent time in Rome before traveling to this coastal location. Their romantic getaway follows wedding celebrations that reportedly took place over three days in Palermo, Sicily, shortly after a civil ceremony at Marylebone town hall in London.
The couple's relationship first gained public attention in January 2024. They reportedly bonded over reading the same book, "Trust" by Hernán Díaz, at a party in Los Angeles. Lipa has described the moment as a sign of destiny, recounting how they discovered they were both on the first chapter of the same novel. Turner also recalled the synchronicity in an interview, noting their shared experience with the book.
Following their wedding, reports emerged regarding comments made by an alleged former girlfriend of Turner's, Victoria Villarroel. Villarroel, a former assistant to Kylie Jenner, did not confirm a past relationship with Turner but, in a resurfaced podcast clip, discussed an ex-boyfriend who she claimed was engaged to a famous person and whose current life was the opposite of what he said he wanted when they were together. Villarroel also claimed her ex met his fiancée while they were on a dinner date, with the fiancée sitting next to them at a London restaurant.
