Dollywood executives announced Tuesday that the theme park will introduce new attractions and features to honor the legacy of its founder, Dolly Parton.

Plans include the construction of a "cascading mountainside waterfall" located outside the Robert F. Thomas Chapel. The park stated this new feature aims to create a tranquil space for visitors to reflect on the natural beauty that inspired Parton's life and work. The chapel itself will also be updated with a new stained-glass window featuring the Bible verse Ecclesiastes 3:1, "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." This verse resonated deeply with Parton and her connection to the Great Smoky Mountains and the different phases of her life and career.

In 2027, a new character named the "Dream Maker" will be introduced in the Wildwood Grove area. This character, along with a "Dream Wagon," is intended to encourage guests, particularly children, to "dream big" and share their aspirations. Kiosks throughout Wildwood Grove will also invite visitors to share how Parton has inspired their dreams.

The Dolly Parton Experience attraction is set to receive a remodeled entryway that will guide guests through a collection of moments, stories, and memorabilia celebrating the Grammy winner's life.

Dollywood Parks & Resorts President Eugene Naughton stated in a press release that conversations with Parton over the years guided the park's vision for carrying forward her legacy. He emphasized that Dollywood will continue to be a place for families to find "fun, kindness and joy" and create lasting memories, aligning with Parton's wishes.

Parton, who passed away on August 25 at the age of 80, originally opened Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on May 3, 1986. A memorial already exists at the park for fans to pay their respects.
