Dolly Parton was actively working on a multitude of projects up until her death, with a strategic roadmap in place to guide her business ventures for decades to come. Her manager stated that Parton had collaborated with a "handpicked" team for several years to develop this plan.

Among the upcoming projects are a biopic, a coffee brand named "Dolly's Cup Of Ambition Coffee," and dog treats under the "Dolly's Dog Treats" label. Other ventures include "Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stops," which aims to celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, and "Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel." Future plans also encompass a scripted series, a docuseries, an animated series about Billy the Kid, "Dolly Dolls," "Dolly's Life of Many Colors Museum," "Dolly on the Holly," and a "Dolly Bedding & Home Decor" line.

Parton’s Broadway musical, "Dolly: A True Original Musical," is slated to open in December. In her final public statements to People magazine on August 21, she mentioned exploring new touring methods, including the use of "avatar performances" in early stages of development, given recent health concerns.

Flags across the United States flew at half-mast in tribute to the singer. A private funeral service is expected to take place this weekend in Nashville.

Parton had previously revealed that a secret song, recorded and sealed in a vault at Dollywood, was not scheduled for release until 2045, the year she would have turned 100. She humorously remarked at the time that the vault would not be opened until the day after her 100th birthday.
