Dolly Parton's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been vandalized with multiple scratches, occurring just days after the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter was laid to rest. The damage was first reported by a fan who visited the star and shared a photo on social media.
Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, confirmed the vandalism to Fox News Digital, stating that a fan reported the scratches. "From the photo she posted, it does appear the star was vandalized with scratches," Martinez said.
Flowers that had been placed at Parton's star were removed the morning before the damage was reported. Martinez explained this was part of scheduled repairs arranged by the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains and repairs the Walk of Fame stars. The crew had completed the initial phase of these repairs, and further work is currently ongoing.
The star is expected to be repaired and polished by Friday. Parton, a beloved entertainer and philanthropist, died on Aug. 25 at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by loved ones. Her decades-long career included iconic hits such as "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," "9 to 5," and "I Will Always Love You." She also appeared in films like "9 to 5," "Steel Magnolias," and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." Beyond her artistic achievements, Parton was widely recognized for her philanthropy, most notably through her Imagination Library, which has distributed millions of books to children globally.
