Dolly Parton, the celebrated singer-songwriter and philanthropist, has been laid to rest alongside her husband in Nashville. A private family funeral service was held for the artist, who passed away at the age of 80.

Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum remembered Parton for her "timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth, and kindness that made us all feel like family." The obituary further stated that Parton's legacy is one of "love, kindness, and resilience," inspiring multiple generations with her music and her commitment to making the world a better place over her seven-decade career.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a program founded by the singer to provide free books to young children. Photos of flowers and a book of condolence were shared at the tomb, which is marked with a brass plaque featuring engravings of Parton and her husband's childhood homes.
