Milan, Italy – Diesel's Spring-Summer 2027 runway show at Milan Fashion Week took an unexpected and explicit turn when models interspersed with the audience began engaging in passionate kissing and other sexual acts. The provocative display, set to Donna Summer's "Love to Love You Baby," left many guests bewildered, with some social media users deeming the performance "distasteful" and "absurd."

Creative Director Glenn Martens described the show as "experimental," stating that the "celebration of being body positive and loving each other is part of the Diesel DNA." However, the unconventional approach drew sharp reactions online. "I've never been more confused in my whole life," wrote New York-based model Luca Mornet on Instagram, where he shared footage of the event. Comments on social media ranged from dismay at the perceived lack of focus on the clothing to critiques of the show's explicitness, with some questioning "what has happened to society?" and others expressing a desire to "just see clothes at runways."

The collection itself featured deconstructed knitwear, denim, and leather, with hemlines on shorts progressively shrinking throughout the show. One notable look for a male model resembled denim underwear.

Despite the controversy, Martens received a standing ovation at the end of the show. This incident follows other recent disruptions at fashion events, including a confrontation at New York Fashion Week where the CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Steven Kolb, resigned after footage showed him restraining animal rights activists protesting against the use of wool.
