Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas reunited on Monday at the premiere of "Camp Rock 3," held at The Walt Disney Studio Lot in Los Angeles. The pair, who dated in 2010 after meeting on the set of the original Disney movie in 2007, appeared in good spirits as they posed for photographs.
Lovato, who uses they/them and she/her pronouns, reprises their role as Mitchie Torres. Jonas is also returning as Shane Gray, the lead singer of the fictional pop-rock trio Connect 3, with his brothers Kevin and Nick Jonas also reprising their roles as members of the band.
The synopsis for "Camp Rock 3" states: "When pop-rock band Connect 3 loses their opening act for a major reunion tour, they return to Camp Rock to find the next big star. As the new generation of campers competes for the spot, intense rivalries spark unexpected romances, secret alliances, and major personal revelations."
The film is scheduled to premiere on the Disney Channel on Thursday and will be available for streaming on Disney+ the following day.
This reunion follows a prior instance of support between the former couple. In August of the previous year, Lovato made a surprise appearance during The Jonas Brothers' 20th-anniversary tour in New Jersey, performing songs from "Camp Rock" with the group. At that time, fans noted Lovato appeared "happy and healthy."
Lovato, who married musician Jordan Lutes in May, previously expressed a desire for an adult-oriented, R-rated version of "Camp Rock 3" in 2023, but felt the opportunity had passed. Filming for the current iteration began two years later, with the main cast returning.
Other cast members and guests also attended the premiere, including Lindsay Price, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Janice LeAnn Brown, Jiwon Lee, Maria Canals Barrera, and Neal McDonough. Liamani Segura, who plays a new camper named Sage, was also present, as were Curtis, Hudson, and Emerson Stone.
