Dec Donnelly detailed a peculiar bedtime routine on the latest episode of the podcast "Hanging Out with Ant & Dec," surprising his co-host Ant McPartlin.

During the podcast, which aired on Thursday, Donnelly shared that he wears "sexy" thigh-high compression boots to bed, explaining that they are intended to help his lymphatic system. McPartlin reacted with humor, teasing Donnelly about the nature of the boots. The boots extend up to his upper thighs, and Donnelly described their function as similar to having one's blood pressure taken.

Donnelly also revealed that his wife, Ali Astall, employs a different health-focused practice before sleep. Astall lies on a mat covered in plastic points, described as a bed of nails, which Donnelly stated is for acupuncture-like benefits. He mentioned that he cannot tolerate lying on the mat himself.

McPartlin expressed his astonishment at the unconventional habits, admitting he had expected a more conventional routine, such as having a bowl of cereal.

Donnelly added that he sometimes drinks a sleepy tea before bed and enjoys watching shows like "24 Hours in Police Custody" to relax. His routine typically begins around 9 p.m. in the bedroom, with phones set to silent and a shower taken before getting into clean sheets.

Separately, the article noted that Ant McPartlin recently celebrated his fifth wedding anniversary with his wife, Anne-Marie. They shared a wedding photo on Instagram from their ceremony at Heckfield Place in Hampshire. McPartlin was previously married to Lisa Armstrong, and he married Anne-Marie in August 2021. The couple have a son, Wilder, and are parents to Anne-Marie's two teenage daughters.
