Davina McCall posted a string of behind-the-scenes photographs from the National Television Awards on Wednesday as British television stars gathered at London's O2 for the ceremony's 30th anniversary.
The presenter, 57, smiled alongside fellow The Masked Singer judge Maya Jama in one selfie and posed in a group shot with her partner Michael Douglas, Gary Lineker, comedian Mo Gilligan and TV producers Hannah Tomkins and Karen Moss in another. McCall said she had enjoyed the night and thanked her hair and make-up teams on social media, and arrived on the red carpet striking playful poses and taking selfies with fans.
The event, hosted by Joel Dommett and broadcast on ITV1 with winners decided by public vote, also produced one of the evening's most talked-about moments when Gary Lineker won Best Presenter, ending Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly's 23-year run in the category. Lineker, 64, used his acceptance speech to reflect on his controversial departure from Match of the Day earlier this year and to say it can be "OK to speak up on behalf of those who have no voice." He presented his final Match of the Day in May after posting a pro-Palestine video on Instagram that included an emoji some commentators said carried anti-Semitic connotations; he apologised and subsequently stepped down as host.
This Morning reclaimed the Best Daytime award two years after losing out to The Repair Shop, and presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley accepted their first NTA as hosts. Alison Hammond, who has fronted the show, told the audience the team had been humbled by the past two losses. Strictly Come Dancing won Best Talent Show despite a series of controversies surrounding the programme this year; its main presenters and judges were unable to attend the ceremony because of recording commitments.
Other winners included Gavin & Stacey for Best Comedy, which returned to the awards following its Christmas special; Clarkson's Farm in the factual entertainment category; and Netflix's Adolescence, which took Best New Drama while its young lead, Owen Cooper, won Best Drama Performance for his portrayal of Jamie Miller. Jeremy Clarkson, accepting the Clarkson's Farm award, made a light reference to using the weight-loss medication Mounjaro.
The ceremony featured a mix of celebration and reflection across British television. While some shows and performers marked returns or comebacks, others faced fresh disappointments: Stacey Solomon's factual series Sort Your Life Out and her bid for Best Presenter did not receive awards, continuing the setbacks she experienced earlier in the year at the BAFTAs.
McCall's social posts offered a glimpse of the atmosphere backstage at a night that blended industry rivalry, public votes and headline-grabbing speeches. She wore a short-sleeved mini gown by Annie Ibiza, reported to cost £2,250, paired with black ankle boots, and acknowledged colleagues and friends in her Instagram caption.
The National Television Awards have been decided by public vote since their inception, and the 2025 ceremony underscored the continuing influence of audience preferences on British television honours. As well as celebrating established shows and personalities, the evening highlighted newcomers and returning favourites amid ongoing conversations about presenters' public platforms and broadcasters' responses to controversy.
