Davina McCall, the 58-year-old television presenter, plans to retire in five years, aiming to step back from her career at the age of 62. This decision comes after recent health challenges, including a battle with breast cancer and surgery to remove a rare brain tumor, have led her to reevaluate her life priorities. Her husband, celebrity hairstylist Michael Douglas, indicated that the couple intends to work for another five years before focusing on enjoying the life they have built together.

"We've got five years of hard work left in us," Douglas stated. "Then I think it's time for us to relax and enjoy all of that hard work. Davina will be about 62 and I'll be around 58. There comes a point where you think, when do we actually sit back and enjoy everything we've worked so hard for?"

Douglas, who is currently collaborating with haircare brand OGX, emphasized their current well-being, adding, "We're both happy and healthy individuals, but that might not last forever."

McCall's impending retirement plans follow a recent celebration of her marriage to Douglas. The couple held a second wedding party at their home in Kent two weeks prior to the report, seven months after their civil ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall last December. They married seven years after beginning their relationship, subsequent to her divorce from Matthew Robertson.

Her personal life has seen significant health hurdles in recent years. Last year, McCall revealed she had undergone surgery for breast cancer after discovering a lump. She described the experience as finding the cancer "very, very small" and catching it "very, very early," expressing immense relief that it had been removed and had not spread.

In 2024, McCall had surgery to remove a colloid cyst, a type of rare brain tumor, which was discovered during a health check-up conducted as part of her advocacy work for menopause. She subsequently received an all-clear following a series of MRI scans.
