The daughter of Paul Kueker, a Connecticut resident who died after a fall at Madison Square Garden, has launched a fundraising effort to help her family with funeral and memorial costs. Kloe Kueker stated on a GoFundMe page that the "sudden loss of our dad has left our family heartbroken" as they struggle to process the tragedy and the associated expenses.
Paul Kueker, 51, was attending a concert by the rock band Goose to celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife, Kristen, when the incident occurred. His wife was reportedly unaware of her husband's fall until informed by officials. Kueker was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The GoFundMe page had raised over $58,800 towards its $65,000 target as of Wednesday afternoon. Kloe Kueker expressed gratitude for the donations, stating, "We will forever miss our dad’s love, strength, and the joy he brought into our lives."
The band Goose released statements expressing condolences and held a moment of silence during a subsequent performance. They also introduced "BIG LOVE" T-shirts, with all proceeds directed to the family's fundraiser.
The city's medical examiner's office is continuing its investigation into the cause of Kueker's death, which is reported to include a toxicology report.
