Dascha Polanco said she will release her debut single soon, telling Page Six at the Bronx and Banco runway show that the track will be "dance world music" and that she will both sing and rap.

Polanco, best known for her role on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black and for her appearance in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s film In the Heights, made the announcement while attending the Australian label's New York runway presentation. "I'm gonna release a single soon," she said, adding that the music will include both singing and rapping. She also praised the show's glamorous aesthetic, calling the collection "glitz, glam" and saying it made her feel "sexy."

The runway event showcased Bronx and Banco's feathered, lace and fringe pieces and was attended by a number of celebrities. Designer Natalie DeBanco said she personally tests each design to ensure it fits a range of body types, noting she is "not a sample size" and wants garments to be comfortable and flattering across sizes. "I try every single dress and make sure that everything fits and looks great," DeBanco said, adding that a dress can be sheer or have cutouts so long as the design is intentional.

DeBanco told Page Six she plans to open new stores in Miami and the Hamptons and has expanded the brand to include handbags. The label staged an after-party at the Times Square Edition's Paradise Club where rapper Saweetie performed. Other front-row attendees included Victoria Justice, Nicky Hilton and Alexandra Richards.

Polanco gave no release date for her single and did not provide further details about collaborators or a record label. The announcement follows a trend of screen actors branching into music projects; Polanco has previously been visible in both television and film and has periodically showcased her musical interests in public appearances.

The Bronx and Banco presentation drew attention for its inclusive sizing emphasis and for the mix of high-glam styling and dance-friendly silhouettes. DeBanco said the brand's growth — now including accessories and plans for new retail locations — is aimed at making its looks accessible to a broader customer base.
