Channel Nine presenter Danika Mason playfully teased her rugby league partner, Liam Knight, after the Hull forward posted a series of images from a recent Sydney visit that appeared to put Mason’s dog ahead of the couple’s romantic moments.
Knight shared a “photo dump” on social media captioned “No place like home,” featuring early morning walks, coffee runs, in-car karaoke and late-night drinks. Several of the images, however, highlighted Mason’s chocolate-coloured Labrador, Charlie, including the post’s opening shot of Knight with the dog rather than a portrait of the pair.
Mason drew attention to the ordering with a laughing comment: "Good to see the order of priority." Knight replied in jest, "@danika.masonn lucky to make it into the top 3."
The light-hearted exchange drew further responses from friends and teammates based in the United Kingdom, who welcomed Knight’s relaxed appearance while also ribbing him for the Sydney break. Former Newcastle Knights player Will Pryce tagged Hull teammate Harvey Barron and wrote, "Go home and forgets about us," to which Knight replied, "Miss you lad," and Barron commented, "No place like home."
The images showed Knight wearing a brace on his ankle, a reminder that his season with Hull was curtailed by a stress fracture. He is recovering in Australia and is expected to spend the coming months there while he recuperates.
Mason and Knight went public with their relationship in 2024, months after Mason ended her engagement to Todd Liubinskas. The couple have maintained a long-distance relationship while Knight plays for Hull in England; Mason has made trips overseas when her schedule permitted and they have posted regular updates from getaways.
Their time together has included a beach outing at Gordons Bay where Mason wore a lavender bikini and the pair relaxed while Knight recuperated. Last October the couple attended former rugby league player Sam Burgess’ wedding in Rome and spent time in Paris, where they were photographed together; Mason wore a strapless black gown and gloves and Knight appeared in a tuxedo jacket.
