Dancing with the Stars will return to ABC on Tuesday, Sept. 16, with a live premiere at 8 p.m. ET, the network and streaming partners confirmed. The series will be simulcast on Disney+ and will be available for next-day streaming on Hulu beginning Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The show is not airing on ABC on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Instead, ABC is scheduled to broadcast three hours of repeats of High Potential from 8-11 p.m. ET.
Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return as hosts for the new season, which will feature a roster that includes Hilaria Baldwin, Corey Feldman, Danielle Fishel, Andy Richter, Dylan Efron, Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt from Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, among others. Decider published a cast guide that breaks down contestants and their professional partners.
Viewers with a valid cable login can stream the premiere live on ABC or at ABC.com. The series will also be available live or on demand through Disney+; subscription bundles cited by partners include Disney+ with Hulu and ESPN for $29.99 per month, a bundle with HBO Max and Hulu for $16.99 per month, or Disney+ alone for $10.99 per month with Hulu access noted in some packages. ABC can also be streamed live with subscriptions to fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, DIRECTV or Sling TV. Several of those services, including YouTube TV, fuboTV, DIRECTV and Hulu + Live TV, offer free trials for new subscribers.
ABC’s decision to simulcast the season on Disney+ reflects the network’s broader streaming strategy to reach both traditional broadcast viewers and subscribers across the Disney streaming ecosystem. The next-day availability on Hulu is intended to accommodate viewers who miss the live broadcast.
The new season will proceed with live broadcasts and eliminations on the established weekly schedule beginning with the Sept. 16 premiere. Further details about pairings, dance styles and episode-by-episode scheduling will be released by the producers and ABC in advance of the season launch.
