'Dancing with the Stars' Season 35 Sees First Eliminations
Two couples were sent home during the premiere week of the ABC competition series.

The 35th season of "Dancing with the Stars" has officially begun, with two couples eliminated during the show's two-night premiere.
The competition kicked off on Sept. 15, with male celebrity contestants taking to the ballroom, followed by female contestants on Sept. 16. Each night featured an elimination, resulting in a total of two couples leaving the competition.
On the first night of the premiere, Conner Leavitt and his professional partner Adele Zaikman were eliminated after performing a salsa to Tag Team's "Whoomp! (There It Is)." The following night, Sarah Jane Nader and pro partner Hailey Bills were eliminated after their jive to Avril Lavigne's "Sk8er Boi."
The show's format involves couples performing routines, with their scores from the judges and viewer votes determining who advances. The remaining contestants will continue to compete for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
"Dancing with the Stars" airs Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
