Daisy May Cooper has described her father, Paul Cooper, as a "narcissist" during a candid discussion with her brother, Charlie Cooper, about their childhood. The siblings, known for co-creating the Bafta-winning series 'This Country,' where their father also appeared as their on-screen dad, spoke about their upbringing on Fearne Cotton's "Happy Place" podcast.

The comedy duo, who were raised in a two-bedroom council house, acknowledged that while they are now close to their father, their family life was not always harmonious. During the podcast, Charlie Cooper recounted a period where he and Daisy reflected on their childhood experiences.

Daisy May Cooper shared her perspective, stating, "It was like childhood stuff that you are just remembering stuff together and you go, 'F***, our dad is a f****** narcissist and he f***** us up really loads.'" She added, "That's the only thing we came to a conclusion on. We don't know whether ghosts exist, but we we know our dad's a f****** narcissist."

Charlie responded humorously, suggesting Daisy took after their father, to which she retorted that he did as well.

The siblings previously described their family as "dysfunctional" prior to achieving fame. Their discussion also touched upon Daisy May Cooper's significant 10-stone weight loss and subsequent cosmetic procedures, which she noted had caused continuity issues during the filming of the second season of her series "Am I Being Unreasonable?"

Reflecting on her physical transformation, Cooper told the BBC podcast "How To Be In The Spotlight" that she was at her most miserable and suffered from a "massive food addiction" when she was at her heaviest. She also addressed comments suggesting her humor diminished after losing weight, expressing frustration with the notion that women must be overweight to be funny. Cooper stated her belief in body positivity but emphasized her personal unhappiness and health concerns at her former weight.
