Daisy Edgar-Jones and her on-screen sister Esmé Creed-Miles were among the notable attendees at the premiere of the new adaptation of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" held Tuesday evening in Leicester Square.

The film, based on Austen's debut novel, tells the story of two sisters navigating love and heartbreak within the social confines of 18th-century Britain.

Edgar-Jones, who portrays Elinor Dashwood, the elder sister, arrived in a striking satin gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. She was accompanied by Creed-Miles, who plays the younger sister Marianne. The two actresses reunited on the red carpet, having previously worked together as teenagers on the 2018 film "Pond Life."

Another notable appearance was by Fiona Shaw, who plays a role in the film. Shaw was photographed interacting with a floral display at the event. Other cast members present included Ceara Coveney, who plays Lucy Steele, and George MacKay, who is cast as one of the sisters' potential suitors. Singer Kate Nash and actors Frank Dillane and Chloe Pirrie were also in attendance.

The new adaptation is described as capturing the romance, humor, and landscapes of Austen's classic, with a script by Diana Reid. It is produced by the team behind previous Austen adaptations like "Pride & Prejudice" (2005) and "Emma" (2020).

"Sense and Sensibility" is set to be released in the UK on September 25. The story follows the Dashwood sisters and their mother after they are forced to leave their family estate following the death of their father, adapting to a new life and new romantic interests.

Elinor is characterized by her practical approach to life, while Marianne is depicted as more driven by emotion, embodying the novel's themes of sense versus sensibility.
