Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have tied the knot in a civil ceremony. The couple confirmed their marriage on August 11, 2026, in Cascais, Portugal, through a joint Instagram post that featured a photo of their hands adorned with simple gold wedding bands. The caption read, "C❤️G."
The marriage follows years of speculation, including rumors in July 2026 when both were seen wearing bands on their ring fingers while arriving in Mallorca, Spain. Previously, in July 2024, Ronaldo referred to Rodríguez as his "wife" in a home workout video for the fitness brand Whoop, though his publicist at the time stated they could not confirm or deny the marriage.
The couple, who have been together for nearly a decade, first met in 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid where Rodríguez worked as a sales assistant. Rodríguez described their initial meeting as feeling like they had known each other all their lives, with an "inexplicable peace and energy" when they held hands for the first time. Ronaldo has also spoken of their connection, stating in the Netflix series “I Am Georgina” that he eventually felt she was the woman of his life.
Ronaldo had a son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., when he met Rodríguez, and had also welcomed twins Eva and Mateo via surrogacy. The couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Alana Martina, on November 12, 2017. In October 2021, they announced they were expecting twins. However, in April 2022, they shared the devastating news that one of their twin babies, a boy named Ángel, had died during childbirth, while their daughter Bella survived.
In August 2025, the couple announced their engagement, with Rodríguez showcasing a large diamond ring estimated to cost between $2 million and $5 million. She captioned the post, "Yes I do. In this and in all my lives."
