Crissy Rock has announced she and husband Julian Buck have split after six years of marriage, saying the couple were estranged from June 2024 and "officially separated" in January.

The 66-year-old actress and comedian, best known for playing hotel manageress Janey York on ITV's Benidorm, posted a statement on Instagram saying she has had no contact with Buck since their separation and asking followers to ignore material from a page she says is not affiliated with her. "To my family, friends and followers, I want to take a moment to clarify that I am no longer with my husband, Julian," she wrote. "We have been estranged since June 2024 and officially separated in January of this year. I have had no contact with him since then. Please disregard any posts or information shared from the page 'Julian Buck' - this page is not affiliated with me and does not represent me in any way. Thank you for your understanding and respecting my privacy during this time."

Rock and Buck met while she was working on Benidorm, she has said in past interviews, meeting him at the Riviera Hotel during a night out with the show's cast. The couple married in 2018 in a movie-themed ceremony at a Stockport cinema that was attended by colleagues and friends from the entertainment industry.

In a 2023 interview with The Mirror, Rock described their early acquaintance, saying there were many people around at first and that the pair ended up alone talking; Buck later asked to remain in touch as a friend. She said at the time that the relationship had progressed unexpectedly and that the pair were close. Buck is reported to be about ten years younger than Rock.

Rock's public comments about her personal circumstances earlier this year drew attention when she described a peripatetic lifestyle, saying she lived like "a nomad" and at times relied on friends for accommodation. In an interview with The Express she said her wardrobe was effectively "the boot of my car" and that without her support network she might be living in a hostel or "a cardboard box," adding that she moved between couches and locations when away from Liverpool.

Her career spans stage, television and film. Rock won awards for her role in the 1994 film Ladybird, Ladybird and later reached wider audiences through appearances on reality and cookery shows including I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Celebrity Come Dine With Me and Celebrity MasterChef. On Benidorm she appeared as Solana Hotel boss Janey for the series' first four seasons before returning intermittently until her final exit during the show's seventh season. Benidorm ran for 11 years and ended in May 2018.

Since the sitcom's cancellation there have been periodic reports that a return of the series was under discussion. Earlier this year The Sun reported that ITV had begun early talks with producers and cast members about a potential reboot; the newspaper quoted an unnamed television insider saying that bosses were hopeful a decision could be made later in the year. Fans have posted reactions online expressing enthusiasm for a potential revival, but no official commission has been announced by ITV.

Rock's Instagram post asked followers to respect her privacy during the separation. She did not provide further details about the reasons for the split or the couple's present arrangements. Representatives for Rock and for Buck did not immediately provide additional comment when contacted through social channels.
