Country music artist Bailey Zimmerman is facing criminal charges of property damage and falsely obtaining services following an incident on May 27 where he allegedly trashed a hotel room at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico, causing an estimated $16,000 in damages. Zimmerman, 26, has issued a public apology for his actions.
The incident occurred after Zimmerman canceled his scheduled May 27 performance, citing illness. However, according to an arrest warrant, he was observed exhibiting signs of intoxication during soundcheck and allegedly fell off the stage. Hotel security reportedly informed police that Zimmerman appeared inebriated throughout the evening. Authorities claim that during soundcheck, he hurled cymbals, flung microphones, and tipped over part of the drum set before leaving the session.
After being ordered to leave the resort, Zimmerman is accused of causing extensive damage to his hotel room. This damage reportedly includes breaking a television, a phone, and multiple walls, along with the disappearance of two chairs and stained carpeting. He also allegedly left an unsettled tab of $400 for alcohol consumed.
Law enforcement stated that Zimmerman initially refused to leave the premises, spitting in the direction of a security staff member while waiting for transportation. He was eventually taken away by bus after police were called. The extent of the room's damage was discovered by housekeeping the following day.
Zimmerman's apology, released to The Daily Mail, expressed deep regret to the Pueblo of Sandia, the resort staff, and his fans. "I never meant for any of this to come across as disrespectful. I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired," he stated. He took "full accountability" and acknowledged falling short of his responsibilities as a musician. "I am reflecting on the disappointment and concern that I caused," he added.
This legal matter comes approximately 17 months after Zimmerman faced public criticism for a performance he admitted was impaired by alcohol at Luke Bryan's Crash My Playa festival in Mexico in January 2025. At that time, he also issued an apology to his fans, stating he was "embarrassed" and wished to be "truthful." He later told The Daily Mail in December 2025 that the Mexico incident had been a catalyst for personal growth, leading him to adopt a more moderate approach to drinking.
