Country music artist Bailey Zimmerman is facing a felony charge for criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor charge for falsely obtaining services following an alleged incident at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on May 27. An affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital outlines a day of escalating disruption that culminated in a canceled concert and Zimmerman being escorted off the property by police.
According to the affidavit, the events began with Zimmerman playing a round of golf on the afternoon of May 27. Upon returning to the resort hotel, he and his entourage were observed smoking a cigarette, during which Zimmerman allegedly burned other members of his band. The group then proceeded to Zimmerman's hotel room before heading to the amphitheater for soundcheck.
During the soundcheck, surveillance footage reportedly showed Zimmerman acting erratically. The affidavit states he threw microphones and cymbals, toppled equipment, stumbled across the stage, and repeatedly defied attempts by his band to calm him down. At one point, Zimmerman allegedly shoved a guitarist after kicking over drum equipment and storming on and off the stage.
After leaving the amphitheater, Zimmerman reportedly threw a water bottle down stairs, spit toward a security officer, and complained about the vehicle provided to him. He eventually entered the SUV to return to the hotel.
Back at the resort around 4:49 p.m., Zimmerman allegedly stumbled out of an SUV, lost a shoe, and struggled to maintain his balance. With visible blood on one knee, he reportedly staggered through the hotel, nearly falling before reaching his suite.
Following these events, Zimmerman canceled his scheduled concert, citing that he had "not been feeling well." He later posted on Instagram that he was unable to give fans the show they deserved and needed to take care of himself.
Resort management subsequently asked Zimmerman and his entourage to leave the property. When Zimmerman reportedly refused to depart in the provided vehicles, Sandia Police were contacted. He eventually became cooperative and was escorted off the premises.
The following day, May 28, police were called to assess damage in Zimmerman's hotel room. Officers discovered a damaged television, a broken phone, a damaged coffee table, two chairs missing, a hole in one wall, damage to other walls, and several stains on the carpet. The total estimated damage amounted to $16,000. Additionally, Zimmerman allegedly charged $400 worth of alcohol to the room but did not pay the bill.
An arrest warrant was signed for Zimmerman on June 18, including a "no bond hold." Zimmerman later issued an apology through his attorney, expressing remorse to the Pueblo of Sandia, the casino staff, and his fans. He stated he takes full accountability for his actions and is committed to learning and growing from the experience.
