Coleen Rooney made a polished arrival at the National Television Awards on Wednesday as I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! was shortlisted for the Reality Competition prize.

Rooney, 38, who competed in this year's I'm a Celebrity and finished second to McFly star Danny Jones, walked the red carpet at The O2 in London in a black, sleeveless fitted gown with a turtleneck detail and slight fishtail skirt. She completed the look with heels, a gold clutch and statement earrings.

The long-running ITV series is among four programmes nominated in the Reality Competition category alongside Love Island, Race Across the World and The Traitors. I'm a Celebrity is also connected to two other expected highlights of the evening: presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are widely tipped to win the TV Presenter award again, and the programme's standing underscores the show's continued prominence in British commercial television.

This year's NTAs mark the awards' 30th anniversary. Established in 1995 as a public-voted ceremony to recognise television talent, the show continues to rely on votes submitted by post, telephone and online. Red carpet coverage is being hosted for a second year by Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks, and the ceremony is being broadcast live on ITV2.

Rooney was one of several celebrities who featured in this year's jungle series, which also included McFly's Danny Jones, Reverend Richard Coles, Oti Mabuse, GK Barry, Maura Higgins and Tulisa. Coles finished third in the public vote.

Beyond the reality field, the NTAs this year reflect a competitive landscape across genres. The New Drama category includes Netflix's Adolescence, which has drawn critical attention for Owen Cooper's performance as Jamie Miller, alongside Code of Silence, Ludwig, MobLand and Rivals. Serial Drama nominations pit long-running soaps and streaming-era hits against one another, with Coronation Street and Emmerdale — which have seen renewed viewership since being made available on ITVX — nominated alongside Casualty, EastEnders and Hollyoaks.

Comedy nominations include Gavin & Stacey, which aired its much-promoted final episode at Christmas 2024 and is standing for recognition alongside Brassic, Michael McIntyre's 25th Year Stand-Up Special and Mrs Brown's Boys. Other categories to be awarded during the evening include Quiz Show, Factual Entertainment and Drama Performance, featuring nominees such as Brenda Blethyn for Vera and Owen Cooper for Adolescence.

Organisers described the NTAs as "a celebration of the nation's most loved stars and shows," with voting open to the public to determine winners. The ceremony is scheduled to deliver awards and entertainment throughout the evening, with programming expected to run until about 10:30 p.m. local time.

As the public voting-decided ceremony concludes its third decade, attention during the broadcast will remain on the year’s most popular and talked-about programmes and performers, with the fate of I'm a Celebrity among the high-profile outcomes to be revealed.
