Coleen Rooney was photographed sprinting to a gym in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, on Monday as she carried out the school run and resumed a routine that organisers and onlookers said looked markedly low-key after last week’s National Television Awards.
Rooney, 39, was seen jogging in a brown Alo yoga jumper, black leggings and trainers, according to photographs published by British press. The appearance comes days after she attended the NTAs, where she dressed in a black Jacquemus gown and joined the I'm A Celebrity campmates for the ceremony that marked the awards' 30th anniversary on ITV1.
At the NTAs, Rooney wore a £1,190 Jacquemus dress with a high neckline and fishtail hem, a gold Simkhai clutch priced at about £575 and Alaia earrings reported to cost £550. The programme I'm A Celebrity was among the winners, a result determined by public vote.
The gym sighting coincided with comments made by Rooney’s husband, former professional footballer Wayne Rooney, on his BBC podcast about family life. On The Wayne Rooney Show, he said that before they had children Coleen would lay out and iron his clothes the night before, but that the routine has changed since they became parents. "Before we had kids, Coleen used to leave me clothes out the night before," he said. "Now I've got to get up and get my own clothes — I'm fuming." He added that Coleen now prepares clothing for the children the night before.
The couple have been married for 17 years after meeting as teenagers in the Liverpool suburb of Croxteth. They have four children, including eldest son Kai, who is 16.
Rooney's public profile and commercial activities have expanded in recent months. She was named a lead female ambassador for a global nutrition brand last year and launched a consumer range in March. Company accounts for her firm, CWR 2021, up to September 2024 show the business held about £580,000; those figures predate her appearance on I'm A Celebrity and a subsequent Disney announcement.
Disney in August announced a premium-access series titled The Rooneys that will focus on the couple's life, the company said, a project that follows media interest generated by Rooney's television appearance. Wayne Rooney left his role at Plymouth Argyle in December; press reports have previously suggested he earned around £500,000 in his former managerial position.
Photographs of public figures carrying out routine activities after high-profile appearances are a recurring feature of celebrity coverage. Rooney’s recent mix of low-key family mornings and high-fashion red-carpet looks illustrates the dual nature of her public life as a mother and commercial personality.
Rooney continues to be a regular presence in tabloids and lifestyle pages, balancing family commitments with media and brand work that has attracted attention from broadcasters and commercial partners. The couple, who remain fixtures of British popular culture, have seen their profile grow as both individuals pursue separate commercial and media ventures while maintaining a family life in Cheshire.
