Coleen Rooney was photographed running errands in Cheshire on Friday, days after attending the National Television Awards at The O2 in London where I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! won the Reality Competition award.
The 38-year-old, who finished second in last year’s I'm A Celebrity series behind McFly's Danny Jones, wore a crochet Adidas track top — a trending piece this season — paired with figure-hugging black leggings and trainers. She shielded her eyes with sunglasses and tied her hair back in a ponytail, appearing in good spirits after the televised ceremony.
At the NTAs on Wednesday, Rooney opted for a much more formal look, wearing a fitted black Jacquemus gown priced at £1,190 with a turtleneck design and a slight fishtail skirt. She completed her red-carpet outfit with a gold Simkhai clutch reported at £575 and statement earrings from Alaïa reported at £550. Rooney later posed with the award after I'm A Celebrity was named Reality Competition winner; reigning King of the Jungle Danny Jones led members of the 2024 cast onstage to accept the gong.
The ceremony, hosted by Joel Dommett in the awards' 30th year, featured a number of notable wins and emotional moments. Gary Lineker won Best Presenter, ending Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly's 23-year streak. Lineker, who stepped down from presenting Match of the Day in May after posting a pro-Palestine Instagram video that included a rat emoji and apologised for the post, used his acceptance speech to address advocacy from public platforms. "It's not lost on me why I might have won this award," he told the audience, adding, "I think it demonstrates that perhaps it's OK sometimes to use our platform to speak up on behalf of those who have no voice."
This Morning reclaimed the Best Daytime award two years after losing to The Repair Shop, marking the first NTA win for new hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley. Alison Hammond, a long-standing presenter on the show, told the audience the team had been "humbled" by the past two losses.
Strictly Come Dancing won Best Talent Show despite many of its presenters and judges being unable to attend because of recording schedules. Gavin & Stacey received the Best Comedy award, with creators Ruth Jones and Larry Lamb collecting the trophy. Clarkson's Farm won Factual Entertainment, and Jeremy Clarkson quipped about using the weight-loss medication Mounjaro while accepting the prize.
Netflix's Adolescence was named Best New Drama, and its young star Owen Cooper won Best Drama Performance for his portrayal of Jamie Miller. EastEnders took the Best Serial Drama prize, and Steve McFadden was visibly emotional when presented with the Serial Drama Performance award for his portrayal of Phil Mitchell’s mental health crisis.
Other outcomes included Michael McIntyre's Big Show receiving the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award and The 1% Club winning in the quiz category over long-running shows such as The Chase. Stacey Solomon, who had missed out at this year's BAFTAs, did not receive an NTA for her factual series Sort Your Life Out and also lost in the Best Presenter category.
The National Television Awards, voted for by the public and broadcast on ITV1, concluded with a mixture of long-established programmes and newer series being recognised, and several moments that prompted public discussion about presenters' roles and responsibilities off-screen.
