Christopher Schwarzenegger, 27, appeared shirtless and noticeably slimmer in photos from a family lakeside outing posted by his sister, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, and was photographed cozying up to an unidentified blonde companion.
Katherine, 35, shared several images from the weekend trip that included their mother, Maria Shriver, and Katherine’s husband, actor Chris Pratt. One snapshot showed the couple’s eldest child, five‑year‑old Lyla, swimming in the lake, while another captured Katherine and Shriver floating together. In a separate photo Christopher is seen with his arm around the blonde, who sat on his lap.
Christopher has been publicly documenting a multi‑year fitness journey that he says began in earnest around 2020. At the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles in June, he told hosts Kelly Osbourne and Jeff Beacher that a 2019 trip to Australia was a turning point after he realized his weight was preventing him from participating in activities he wanted to try, including skydiving. “I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities,” he said. “I was like, ‘I want to go skydiving.’ And my friends were like, ‘Yeah, no shot.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I can’t skydive.’”
Christopher has described the process as gradual and the result of trial and error. He told the summit audience that he had tried various approaches and that the transformation took more than five years. He has credited giving up bread for Lent at one point with helping him lose about 30 pounds in less than two months, saying his commitment to not breaking Lent served as a personal rule that aided the change.
Family members have publicly acknowledged his progress. A now‑deleted 2021 Instagram post from his brother Patrick Schwarzenegger praised Christopher’s workout dedication and new direction. Their father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, also lauded his son’s regimen in an Instagram message, noting Christopher’s mix of boxing, weightlifting, stretching and cycling classes.
According to people familiar with his efforts, Christopher changed his habits while at the University of Michigan, cutting back on junk food and sustaining a consistent workout routine as part of a push to “get healthy” around the time of his college graduation. He has said that his weight struggles extend back to high school, when he remembers preparing special health‑focused lunches.
The lakeside photos mark another relatively rare public appearance for Christopher on his sister’s social media. Katherine’s post simply described the images as “lake days.” Neither Katherine nor other family members identified the woman pictured with Christopher in the snaps.
Christopher is one of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s children and the younger brother of actor Patrick Schwarzenegger and author Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt. The family has frequently shared moments from vacations and gatherings in recent years, drawing attention as Christopher’s health journey has become more visible through occasional public remarks and social posts.
