Christopher Schwarzenegger's weight loss was on full display during a family lake outing, according to an Instagram post Sunday by his sister, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt. The slideshow captured him posing shirtless in blue-and-white striped swim shorts aboard a boat as the family spent time on the water. Katherine's post also featured her husband, Chris Pratt, and her mother, Maria Shriver, swimming with the family's grandchildren.
One image showed a blonde woman cuddled with Christopher as he sat in the captain's chair, highlighting the private family moment that Katherine shared with followers. The collection also included shots of the Pratt family and Shriver enjoying the day on the lake.
Christopher is rarely seen in public. He last drew attention during a February appearance at the premiere of The White Lotus. He has spoken publicly about his weight loss journey, including remarks from a 2021 panel at the Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles, where he described the process as "a big process" that began in 2019 while living in Australia. He told attendees that he started in 2019 on a trip in Australia, and saw how much his weight prohibited him from doing everyday activities. He also noted that, despite his transformation, he hadn't reached his goal yet, saying that when looking at "before and after photos ... I don't feel like I'm an after yet. I don't feel like I'm at the point."
In April, Katherine posted a National Siblings Day photo featuring Christopher, Patrick and Christina, with him wearing shorts and a T-shirt as he posed alongside his siblings. Chris Pratt later shared a separate post that included a prayer, asking followers to seek calm and clarity. The note read: "Lord calm my restless mind. Quiet my anxious heart. Help me set aside distractions and choose what gives life and gives peace." "You keep in perfect peace whose minds are stayed on you, Lord fill me with strength to turn my attention toward you that I find reset and joy in your presence. Amen," he concluded. Pratt also urged his followers to "touch grass," saying, "you can continue scrolling or you can turn your phone off and go outside." "If you’ve got time to be on your phone right now, you’ve got time to do your to-do list," he said. "You’ve got time to reach out to somebody in need and share this prayer with them."
Christopher's famous father, former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, spoke with The Times in June about his family and career. "I could never go and say to him, you’re overweight. We just kept introducing healthy foods," he said about Christopher's weight loss. "We introduced him always to the gym and all of that kind of stuff. And then, out of nowhere, he decided that he wanted to be lean. And now he is. So that is of course fantastic, the self-discipline and the self-motivation. I always felt one day it will have to come from him — and it did."
Arnold also spoke about his relationship with Patrick Schwarzenegger and how things have changed since Patrick landed a starring role on season three of "The White Lotus." "All of a sudden, everything has changed around," he said. "I walk into the gym now and it used to be the girls would come up and give me their contact. And then after 'White Lotus' comes out, the girl comes up and says, ‘Here’s my contact, give it to Patrick.’ So it’s wonderful. If I go to my grave and know that my son has outdone me, I’m in heaven."
The family remains relatively private but has offered glimpses into Christopher's ongoing weight-loss journey through public appearances and social posts. The coverage comes as Christopher, who has rarely been photographed publicly, continues to press forward with his self-described path toward greater health and mobility, a journey that his family publicly supports and often highlights in tandem with their broader entertainment and public-life profile.
