Christopher Nicks, the younger brother of Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks, has died at the age of 72. His death followed a private, two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

Christopher's daughter, Nixi, announced his passing on Instagram Friday, sharing that he was surrounded by family at the time of his death. She noted that her father had kept his diagnosis private to avoid worrying others. "I know that he has left his mark on so many people, and this will leave many more than his immediate family with a piece of them missing," Nixi wrote in her tribute.

Mick Fleetwood, co-founder of Fleetwood Mac, paid tribute to Christopher on social media, calling him a "forever beacon of inspiration." He reflected on their shared history, stating, "The passing of Chris Nicks has brought so many memories of his amazing life... much of course was shared connected to Fleetwood Mac." He added, "Chris you will be missed by me and I know the Family of Fleetwood Mac. Peace and love."

While Christopher largely remained out of the public eye, he played a significant behind-the-scenes role in Stevie Nicks' career. Stevie Nicks has previously spoken about the importance of her family, including her brother, to whom she felt a deep connection.
