Actor Christopher Lambert was hospitalized over the weekend after collapsing during a meet-and-greet at Steel City Con in Philadelphia. The 69-year-old actor was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

Event organizers stated that Lambert became overheated and dehydrated, leading to his collapse. A representative for the actor told TMZ that Lambert was "perfectly OK" and resting, attributing the incident to a lack of sleep and insufficient food, which caused his blood sugar to drop.

Steel City Con representatives confirmed to People that the actor was feeling "a little overheated and dehydrated" and had to sit down but was recovering well. The convention had scheduled Lambert for appearances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the Aug. 7-9 event, and he was expected to return on Sunday for photo opportunities and a Q&A panel.

Lambert, known for his iconic role as Connor MacLeod in the 1986 film "Highlander," also starred as Tarzan in "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes" and Lord Raiden in "Mortal Kombat."

This incident follows a previous health setback for Lambert last year, when a fall at a hotel resulted in a back injury that led him to cancel an appearance at Sweden’s SciFiWorld festival in March 2025. He is scheduled for additional convention appearances later this month, including Fan Expo Chicago and Mad Monster Expo in North Carolina.
