Christina Aguilera and her fiancé, Matthew Rutler, displayed a rare public display of affection over the weekend at a party in New York City.
The couple, who have been engaged for 12 years, attended an event at Sartiano's hosted by Raising Cane's founder Todd Graves. Aguilera, 45, and Rutler, 41, were photographed together on a couch at the gathering.
During the event, Aguilera and Rutler posed for a photo with Mick Jagger, the frontman of The Rolling Stones. Aguilera also appeared alongside rapper Big Sean at the event.
Rutler, who typically remains out of the public eye, has been more visible with his partner recently. In April, the couple attended the 12th Breakthrough Prize Ceremony together and shared a kiss on the red carpet. Prior to that, Rutler had not appeared on a red carpet with Aguilera in about a year.
The couple became engaged on Valentine's Day in 2014, with Rutler proposing with a diamond ring.
Aguilera has previously stated that she was in no rush to marry. In 2015, she told People magazine that with a new home, a baby, and a return to work, she had her hands full and was not in a hurry to set a wedding date, wanting to "plan it and cherish the moment, while not feeling rushed."
In 2021, Aguilera posted a tribute to Rutler on Instagram, praising his devotion, drive, and business acumen, as well as his role as a parent and partner. She highlighted his founding of MasterClass, an online platform featuring educational seminars from experts.
Aguilera and Rutler first met in 2010 on the set of the musical film "Burlesque," where Rutler worked as a production assistant. Aguilera was previously married to music executive Jordan Bratman from 2005 to 2011; they have one son, Max Liron, who is now 18.
Aguilera is currently working on new music and a documentary about her life. Last December, she released a concert special, "Christina Aguilera: Christmas in Paris," for Paramount+. She described her current projects as a "rebirth of sorts."
