Christie Brinkley, 72, recently shared a series of photos on Instagram that prompted followers to remark on her youthful appearance, with many commenting that she was mistaken for her 28-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook.

In the slideshow, Brinkley posed in a navy-blue bell-sleeved top and matching silver-button shorts. The photos were taken in front of a red Ford F-100 truck and appeared to be promoting her zero-sugar beverage brands, Bellissima Prosecco & Wines and Bella Sprizz. Brinkley's 1.7 million followers responded enthusiastically in the comments section. "I thought you were your daughter for a second!" one user wrote, a sentiment echoed by others who commented, "OMG, I thought this was your daughter!"

Sailor Brinkley-Cook, a Ford Model, also commented on her mother's post, simply writing "Hot." Brinkley is also mother to Alexa Ray Joel, 40, and Jack Brinkley-Cook, 31.

Brinkley has previously spoken about aging, telling Social Life Magazine in June that age brings a sense of freedom. "You do what you wanna do when you wanna do it," she said. "I think that there's a freedom that comes with age that's quite wonderful. You don't really care what anybody thinks about your outfit anymore. You know what you like. You know what you don't like. And you don't feel like you have to put up with the stuff that you don't like anymore."

Brinkley is set to appear in the upcoming coming-of-age family comedy "American Summer," directed by Michael W. Gray, where she will portray an older version of the character Kelly. The film is scheduled for a limited release in U.S. theaters on September 4. She also runs her clothing company, Tower Hill.

Brinkley's amazed 1.7 million followers took to the comments section, including one Instagram user who prayed: 'Please dear Lord let me age like @christiebrinkley'
