Chris Rock has opened up about overcoming a pornography addiction and his past infidelity, admitting he was 'not a great husband' during his marriage to Malaak Compton-Rock. In a recent GQ interview, the comedian revealed he hasn't watched porn in five to six years, a significant change from his previous admission of regular use.

Rock, who shares two children with his ex-wife, reflected on his 2016 divorce, stating that such an event is never successful and takes time to recover from. He explained that the financial implications of the divorce necessitated extensive touring to rebuild his finances, leading to a period of intense stand-up performances and personal rebuilding.

Previously, in his 2018 Netflix comedy special 'Tamborine,' Rock had called himself a "f exto extord{ }ing a exto extord{ }hole" for his cheating and took full responsibility for the split. He attributed his past behavior to a lack of kindness and an entitled attitude, believing his financial contributions gave him excessive freedom. "That shit don't f**cking work!" he stated, reflecting on his past mindset.

He also commented on the cliché of men seeking affairs for something 'new,' noting that such actions can irrevocably alter the relationship, leaving a 'bad new' instead of a positive change.

Beyond his marital issues, Rock discussed seeking therapy to improve his personal life and understanding his nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD). He shared that the diagnosis has helped him recognize the insensitivity of his past behavior, which he previously attributed solely to fame.

"It made me realize how insensitive a lot of my behavior was throughout the years," Rock acknowledged. He noted that fame can complicate the perception of interpersonal issues, sometimes leading him to wrongly blame external factors like his celebrity status for relational problems. Misty Green, Rock's recent A24 dramedy, was released on Apple TV+ in October.
