Chris Hemsworth has shared harrowing footage from a "life-threatening" plane ride his family experienced during a recent vacation in Costa Rica. The actor, 42, revealed the frightening incident in a five-minute YouTube vlog, which showed their small aircraft being buffeted by severe weather, with lightning flashing perilously close to the windows.
Hemsworth described the flight as one of the most dramatic moments of their getaway, which also included activities such as cliff diving, rock climbing, surfing, and deep-sea fishing. His wife, Elsa Pataky, 50, and their three children – India, 14, and 12-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan – also participated in the high-octane adventures.
"My kids continue to crush all the extreme, adrenaline-pumping activities, no matter where we are," Hemsworth stated, expressing pride in his children's fearlessness. The vlog captured moments of the children tackling steep rock faces and leaping from cliffs into the ocean.
Despite the intense experience of the lightning-filled flight, Hemsworth later declared the trip as "one of the best trips we've ever had." The family's vacation preceded Hemsworth beginning filming for "Extraction 3" on the New South Wales South Coast. The family resides in Byron Bay when not traveling or working on film projects. Hemsworth and Pataky, who married in 2010, have spoken about the importance of an "adventurous spirit and making time for one another" in maintaining their relationship.
