Actor Chris Evans is facing speculation about plastic surgery following his brief appearance in the new trailer for "Avengers: Doomsday." The 45-year-old, reprising his role as Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, drew significant attention from fans who noted what they perceived as a drastically altered appearance.

Online reactions ranged from shock to skepticism, with many social media users commenting on his facial features. Some viewers remarked on a "bristling dark beard and longer hair," while others pointed to a "puffier face" and a "different nose." Comparisons were made to his earlier appearances, with one user stating, "Like that's a different person."

Amidst the online discussion, some fans defended Evans, suggesting that the perceived changes could be attributed to factors such as lighting, a character disguise for the film, or the natural effects of aging. However, other users countered that the alterations appeared more significant than typical aging.

Dr. Rozbeh Torabi, a plastic surgeon consulted by the Daily Mail, suggested that many of the observed changes might be a result of "normal aging processes." The surgeon speculated that Evans "might have some Botox" but indicated "definitely no facelift or rhinoplasty." Dr. Torabi also commended Evans on what he described as likely "a good skincare routine," recommending "daily exfoliation, vitamin C and retinol" as potential contributors to a healthy glow.

Evans first portrayed Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011's "Captain America: The First Avenger." His last appearance as the character was in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," which concluded with Rogers returning the Infinity Stones and choosing to live in the past with Peggy Carter.

"Avengers: Doomsday" is slated for a theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
