Chloe Fineman is leaving “Saturday Night Live” after seven seasons with the sketch comedy program. She announced her departure on Thursday via an Instagram post.
“After 7 wonderful seasons at ‘SNL’ I have decided it’s time for my next chapter,” Fineman wrote. “It’s cliche to say this but working at ‘SNL’ has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t really believe I got to be a part of it.”
Fineman, 37, joined the cast of SNL in 2017. She expressed her gratitude for the experience and her colleagues.
“I fell in love with the place the second I walked through the door,” she continued. “Lorne [Michaels] (if you’re reading this on your burner account) I want you to know that I am forever in your debt.”
She also praised her fellow cast members, describing them as “the best in business,” and reflected on her time on the show, noting that the cast gives “absolutely everything you have even when it’s incredibly stupid.”
While admitting that it was “really hard” to leave, Fineman stated that it “does feel like the right time.”
