Singer Cher Lloyd became emotional in an Instagram video on Tuesday, telling fans she is experiencing the "worst pain" she has ever felt following the death of her father and a recent marital split.
Lloyd, 33, announced in April that her father, Darren, had passed away. She had previously shared in 2020 that he was "seriously unwell" in the hospital.
"I'm not one to cry on the internet, but today has been really hard," Lloyd said in the video. "Like I just miss my dad, and I feel like a little girl again. And it doesn't get any easier. Like grief is-I can't explain it like this, like the worst pain you've ever felt."
She added, "People say it gets easier over time, but I don't think it does. I think I'll be this version of me forever."
Lloyd's father's death occurred three months before reports emerged that she and her husband, Craig Monk, had separated after 13 years of marriage. The couple shares two daughters.
Speculation about the marriage began when Lloyd posted a photo of her ring-free hand on Instagram. She later responded to a user, stating she had thrown her wedding ring "in the bin."
Sources close to Monk reportedly urged Lloyd to have a private conversation with her husband rather than discuss their marital issues publicly, calling her comments "disrespectful."
Lloyd married Monk in November 2013. Their daughters are Delilah-Rae, born in May 2018, and Eliza Violet, born in September 2023.
In April, Lloyd shared her father's passing by posting a screenshot of a text exchange. She wrote at the time, "Life will never be the same again. I've never felt pain like this. My Dad, I love you. Goodnight 10.03.73 - 11.04.26."
